The Homebake 2012 Comedy Challenge: Open Mic Competition!

Last year at the Homebake Music, Film & Arts Festival the first ever Homebake Comedy stage was a huge success! This year, presented again by the Sydney Comedy Festival, the comedy stage returns and we are pleased to announce that The Comedy Lounge @ Cafe Lounge will again host the Homebake Comedy Challenge!

So fledgling comedians, it's time to stop bragging about your comedy prowess to your mates and finally prove it! Starting Monday 5th November, The Comedy Lounge @ Cafe Lounge in Surry Hills will host a weekly open mic competition, giving you the opportunity to win a spot opening the Comedy Stage at Homebake on Saturday December 8th, in the Domain.

How to Enter: Upload a video or sound file of you performing to ‘the Comedy Lounge @ Cafe Lounge’s’ Facebook Page or email us your stuff at thecomedylounge@hotmail.com. The selected entrants will get the opportunity to take part in the weekly 'showdown' live at Cafe Lounge on Monday nights! Each week, one comedian will go through to the Grand Final at Café Lounge on Monday December 3rd (the Monday before Homebake Festival).

The winner will join the list of incredible comedians performing onstage at Homebake Festival, which so far includes: Tom Ballard, Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Michael Hing, Ray Badran, Smart Casual, Matt Okine, Ronny Chieng with more stars to be announced!

To Win: Audience voting will narrow the field from four to two on the night with the Winner decided in true gladitorial fashion by audience applause at the end of the night after a different feature act each week (November’s features include Triple J’s Tom Ballard and Good News week’s Claire Hooper!).
